Pollination Services

"Pollination is the most important component of wild blueberry production. The greater is the transfer of pollen, the greater the likelihood that an adequate number of compatible pollen grains will be present on the stigma to ensure fertilization of the ovules." (Chiasson and Argall, 1996).

The effectiveness of pollination efforts can be measured by determining percent fruit set or percent pollination. These terms are used interchangeably meaning the proportion of flowers that produce fruit.
