About BNBB
Bleuets NB Blueberries is the industry organization representing New Brunswick blueberry producers. BNBB works closely with producers, processors, industry groups and other provincial producer organizations to support promotion and research that contribute to improved production and marketing opportunities.
BNBB was established in summer 2006 as an Agency under the New Brunswick Natural Products Act following two rounds of regional consultations and a plebecite conducted by the New Brunswick Farm Products Commission. Under the Natural Products Act, BNBB has authority to collect a levy on all berries produced in New Brunswick. The Levy Order passed in 2006 establishes a levy of $.008 / pound.
Objectives
- To provide services to NB producers including opportunities for accessing information, representation in industry organizations and working groups, and support and development of policies in the best interest of producers.
- To support research that encourages good cultural practices, improved management and sustainability of blueberry production.
- To support promotion programs that result in increased marketing opportunities for NB producers.
